There are several ways that local textile businesses and organizations can support this new exhibit!

Make a Financial Contribution, be an EXHIBIT SPONSOR

Funds are needed to support exhibition costs (hanging materials, printed signage).
We are also looking to sponsor 6 textile workshops for the East African Women’s Refugee Group at AALV in Burlington. These women are interested in paying it forward by learning new skills and making blankets to contribute to the project. We need to cover workshop materials and interpreter costs for all events attended by Refugees. Exhibit Sponsors will be recognized in a Welcome Blanket exhibition panel, on our website, exhibition marketing materials, and will be listed on Welcome Blanket’s Community Partner page.
Contributions of $250 or more are invited have their business logo included in the Mill Museum's Welcome Blanket exhibition marketing materials.

To become an Exhibit Sponsor, make an online contribution with the donation link or mail a check to:

The Heritage Winooski Mill Museum is a non-profit 501(c)-3 organization. Donations are tax-deductible.

Ways to be a Community Partner:

Be A Drop-off HUB!  Let’s save on shipping costs!  We will include your business name and address as a place that is willing to collect finished blankets. Depending on your location we can arrange for a pick-up of the collected blanket, or ask that a volunteer brings them to us.

Donate materials for makers.  We will be working with a small group of Refugees at AALV who would like to knit and crochet blankets to be part of the project. Let us know if you are willing to donate materials for this cause.

Discounts for Welcome Blanket Project. Offer reasonable discounts for Welcome Blanket knitters/quilters. For example, you may offer 10% off yarn to people making a Welcome Blanket. The details of the promotion are up to you.

Beginners Welcome. Beginners can come by during business hours for help. Some craft-curious folks will want help getting the right supplies to get started.

Gatherings and Craft-A-Longs. Host gatherings for participants to make welcome blankets together. This is a fantastic way to build community at your store. Welcome Blanket is also a great first project! If you tag us on Instagram with gathering info, we can share widely.
